The Sulzbach-Rosenberg branch of the Fraunhofer Institute for Environmental, Safety, and Energy Technology (Fraunhofer UMSICHT) develops process engineering solutions in the fields of carbon conversion (next-generation biofuels, recycling technologies for plastics and composite materials, biochar), low-emission combustion and heating technology, and the generation and storage of process heat. With a focus on process engineering and plant construction, it supports clients from the initial project concept through pilot plants and demonstrators all the way to market launch. Would you like to help us shape a sustainable world? We’re looking for new team members! In our Combustion and Process Heat department, we focus on low-emission combustion processes and process heat. In the FlexNOx-Demo project, fuel staging is being developed and tested at a biomass combustion plant with the goal of reducing nitrogen oxides. To this end, experiments are being conducted with a wide variety of feedstocks.
