Senior Software Engineer, Agent Architecture and Evaluation

Demand for inference is growing rapidly, and coding and research agents are becoming major drivers of token usage. New agentic patterns, including reasoning models, parallel subagents, and long-horizon tool use, are further increasing the complexity and scale of inference workloads. We are looking to deeply understand the workload profiles of these agents as they evolve, developing the best understanding in the world so we can support building the best hardware in the world. Through this process, we will also engineer our own agentic AI systems to ensure NVIDIA stays ahead of the curve. What you will be doing: • Building agentic systems in coding and research domains internally • Architecting systems that analyze inference workload dynamics of leading agentic harnesses under realistic conditions • Collaborating with teams that lead evaluation systems for software and hardware to improve eval quality What we need to see: • Strong experience with building AI agents • Familiarity with how to evaluate performance of AI agents • Experience using coding agents like Codex and Claude Code • MS in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience), with 5 years of relevant software development experience. Huge plus for recent experience to be in AI inferencing or Agents. Ways to stand out from the crowd: • 2+ years experience with building modern agentic systems or AI-backed systems. • Open source projects showcasing agentic AI applications you have built • Rigorous analytical approach to analyzing and collecting data NVIDIA is widely considered to be one of the technology world’s most desirable employers. The base salary range is 152,000 USD - 241,500 USD for Level 3, and 184,000 USD - 287,500 USD for Level 4. You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
