Research Associate: Photonic Integrated Circuits (PIC) (all genders)

Change starts with us, but also with you. Developing innovative technology solutions and bringing them to application - that is our goal at the Fraunhofer Institute for Photonic Microsystems IPMS. We possess a broad and strategically relevant base of expertise for the development of silicon nitride (SiN)-based photonic integrated circuits (PICs) on 200-mm and 300-mm platforms. Our expertise covers the entire technological value chain—from device design and process technology to characterization—and encompasses key technologies such as the co-integration of MEMS and photonics, as well as innovative integration approaches like quasi-monolithic integration (QMI). We are seeking a Research Associate for our Erfurt location to start as soon as possible, in order to specifically address the growing market potential of integrated photonics—particularly in the fields of optical sensing, biosensing, and module integration—and to further develop application-oriented module solutions.
