Vision-Based Human Motion Tracking for Surgical Robotics

We offer a research-oriented internship focused on vision-based human motion and eye tracking , with emphasis on eyeball tracking and real-time communication of positional data to a surgical robotic system . Responsibilities Implement and evaluate vision and sensing techniques for human body and eye motion tracking Develop real-time pipelines to estimate and transmit position data to a robotic system Build simple experimental setups and prototypes Design and perform experiments to evaluate accuracy, latency, and robustness Analyze and document experimental results What You Will Learn Vision-based tracking and real-time image processing Eye tracking and gaze estimation fundamentals Integration of perception systems with robotic platforms Experimental validation and performance evaluation Expected Background Students in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields , with experience in image processing and sensor implementation . Environment The internship will take place at IMEC–VUB–Brubotics , in a multidisciplinary research environment combining robotics, sensing, and medical technology.
