Maintenance Engineer (onsite @ Bellary)

Job Description Location: JSW, Vijayanagar (onsite resident engineer) in General shift (9:00 am to 5:00 pm) Team: Digital Twin Solutions Job Type: Contract Basis (3 months contract extendable) Position Overview: We are seeking a technically skilled and forward-thinking Diploma Engineer to join our innovative Digital Twin Solutions team. This role is foundational to our Industry 4.0 strategy, focusing on bridging the physical and digital worlds. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the high-fidelity data streams from our plant's equipment are accurately and reliably feeding our real-time digital twin. Your work will directly impact the accuracy and effectiveness of our predictive models and digital simulations. This role offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of digital transformation in the steel industry. Roles & Responsibilities : a. Digital Twin Data Foundation: • Perform high-level maintenance on critical equipment to ensure the health and reliability of the physical assets represented in the digital twin • Continuously monitor data from IAPM systems to validate and ensure the accuracy of the real-time data feeding the digital twin. b. IT/OT Integration for Digital Twin: • Act as a key team member for resolving IT/OT issues, ensuring a seamless and uninterrupted data pipeline from the shop floor to our digital twin platform. • Troubleshoot sensor and network issues to maintain the integrity of our digital twin's data sources. c. Data Flow & Platform Integrity: • Systematically diagnose and resolve issues that prevent sensor data from reaching our cloud platforms (MES, SAP, Servers), which are integral to the digital twin ecosystem. • Collaborate with the Digital Twin development team to validate data streams and assist in the integration of new assets. Qualifications Educational qualification: Diploma or Undergraduate degree in Engineering (preferably in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical, or Computer Science). Experience : A minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience in the steel industry is highly appreciated. Mandatory/requires Skills : • Proven ability to resolve complex IT/OT and sensor data-flow challenges. • Strong diagnostic skills to systematically identify root causes of data transmission failures. Preferred Skills : • A strong interest or experience in Digital Twin concepts, IoT, and Industry 4.0 technologies. • Familiarity with cloud platforms and data architecture.
