R&D – Linux Android Platform Engineer

Company: Qualcomm China Job Area: Engineering Group, Engineering Group > Software Engineering General Summary: Develop and maintain the Qualcomm IOT Android platforms, co-work with global teams to provide the high-quality software for customers to support the success of Qualcomm chipsets. Your responsibilities will include: • Technology research, critical issue fixes, android platform customization and optimization. • Requirement and competitive products analysis. • Writing documents and supporting relevant teams for technology productization. • Provide key support to OEMs for features and issues. Preferred Qualifications • 5+ years of experience in Android platform development, with in‑depth knowledge of the Android system boot flow, Binder IPC, HAL, and native services, and proven ability to independently customize and integrate the Android system. • Good knowledge of Linux fundamentals, including process/thread, memory, and common debugging tools. • Nice to have: Practical experience in Android BSP, system bring-up, or low-level development (HAL / Native / Kernel). • Excellent Java/C++/C programming skills and coding styles • Strong debugging skills with the ability to trace issues across layers (Framework → Native → Kernel). • Familiar with Git, repo and GNU make, python, Linux shell script. • Good at both oral and written English. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. • 2+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc. Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
