US WooCommerce developer, hourly: new store project
📍 United StatesPosted Oct 11, 2026
Overview
I am the founder of a small children’s learning brand in Connecticut. The store is already designed and written: one HTML file with every page laid out and every word final, plus a developer view. The storefront artwork is in process with our illustrator and arrives as finished image files (PNG), some during the build. I am setting up WordPress and WooCommerce myself, on hosting and a domain in my own name. I need a developer for the parts I cannot do, in this order:
1. LOCK THE DOORS FIRST, before anything is public. Hardening, HTTPS everywhere, two-factor login for admin, daily backups, a firewall and malware scanning, and secure delivery of digital downloads so no paid file can be reached by a guessed link. Then a short written list of everything you set.
2. BUILD THE FRONT to match my mockup, page for page: the front door, the store entry screen, the subject shelves, the catalog, the product page, and the family library. Mobile first. No analytics, no tracking pixels, and no third-party scripts on any page a child could see. Functional cookies only. Artwork for the front is in process; you place it in the picture slots the mockup already marks.
3. EASY VIEWING. The product grid in cube form (if possible; please price the cube part on its own), the preview pictures, and the “buy one level or buy the set of three” choice, as drawn.
4. HELP PEOPLE FIND US. A sitemap, page titles and descriptions, product schema and sharing tags, with Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools verified on my accounts. No tracking of any kind.
5. IF HOURS ALLOW: a CSV import template and the first import of my catalog from my spreadsheet: about 500 digital products at launch, then about 5 new products each week, which I will add myself with the template.
BUDGET: $3,000 to $4,000 for the developer work, hourly or by milestone, in the order above. When the hours are used, we stop, and you hand me the list of what is left; more hours only when I say so in writing.
TERMS: I hold the hosting, the domain, and every login in my own name from day one. All work is assigned to my LLC. 20% of each payment is held until 30 days after launch and released when the site runs clean with no open bugs. I share the mockup, design files and full brief after a signed NDA.
WHO CAN APPLY: a United States-based person or small firm. No part of the work will leave the United States, and the person writing the code will be the person I talk to.
TO APPLY, send:
• (a) your hourly rate, or a price for each of the five jobs;
• (b) two live WooCommerce stores you built, and one you built more than two years ago that is still running;
• (c) how you would stop a guessed link from reaching a paid download;
• (d) how you would keep every outside script off a page a child could see;
• (e) your first available start date. I am looking forward to launching as early as possible.
No calls until we are ready to start. I read every reply myself.
