About the job As Senior Analog Architect you define the analog and mixed-signal architecture of Nordic's next-generation Microcontroller and Wireless SoCs. You turn system requirements into architectures and specifications, set the technical direction for the analog design teams, and stay accountable for performance, power, area and robustness from concept to silicon. You work with analog, digital, system, verification, layout and product teams, and you are a technical reference for senior engineers across the group. This is a unique opportunity to combine deep technical expertise with strategic impact while working with some of the industry's most experienced engineers. Key responsibilities • Define analog and mixed-signal architectures for SoCs, balancing performance, power, area, robustness and reliability. • Translate product and system requirements into block-level specifications, budgets and verified architectures. • Evaluate architectural trade-offs and technology options, and drive early feasibility studies and prototyping. • Guide design teams through schematics, simulation, design reviews, layout and post-layout checks, and step in at transistor level when needed. • Define simulation and verification strategies, including top-level analog and mixed-signal verification, across the design cycle. • Own analog IP integration at chip level, including interfaces to digital, power management and RF blocks. • Work with layout, test and product engineering on floorplanning, parasitic-aware trade-offs, silicon bring-up and characterization. • Mentor engineers and improve design methodologies, reuse strategies and engineering practices. • Document architectural decisions, assumptions, results and risks for technical and non-technical stakeholders. Key qualifications and personal skills • A master's or PhD in electrical engineering, microelectronics, physics or a related field. • Extensive and hands-on experience with analog and mixed-signal IC, including several complete SoC or IP projects taken to production. • Proven experience defining architectures and specifications for complex analog systems, such as data converters, PLLs and clocking, power management, or RF and analog front-ends. • Strong grasp of CMOS devices and analog fundamentals, including feedback, noise, mismatch, stability, and process-voltage-temperature effects. • Extensive pre- and post-layout simulation and verification experience, and a clear view of how to verify at system level. • Experience from silicon bring-up, debug and root-cause analysis. • Ability to influence technical decisions across teams and to mentor senior engineers. • Strong communication skills and fluent English. The ideal candidate sees both the system and the transistor, digs deeply into technical problems, works well alone and in teams, and has real enthusiasm for analog design. Working for Nordic Working at Nordic, you will be inspired and supported to develop yourself. Our teams enjoy a professional and informal working environment. We value and encourage the continuous development of skills and expertise to the highest levels.
