Junior Project Manager - Data Centres Job ID 527175 Posted since 29-Oct-2026 Organization Smart Infrastructure Field of work Project Management Company Siemens Ltd. Experience level Early Professional Job type Full-time Work mode Hybrid (Remote/Office) Employment type Permanent Location(s) • Melbourne - Victoria - Australia • Sydney - New South Wales - Australia As Australia’s digital economy continues to accelerate, Siemens is playing a critical role in enabling the next generation of data centre infrastructure. Through our Electrification & Automation business, we deliver innovative power distribution, automation, digitalisation and energy solutions that help hyperscale, colocation and enterprise customers build resilient, sustainable and high-performing facilities. Siemens is looking for a motivated Junior Project Manager – Data Centres to join our growing Electrification & Automation team. This is an exciting opportunity for an early-career project professional with approximately 1–2 years of project management, project engineering or project coordination experience who wants to develop their career within the rapidly growing data centre sector. Working alongside experienced Project Managers and Senior Project Managers, you will support the delivery of major data centre projects while progressively taking independent responsibility for smaller projects and defined work packages. A significant part of the role will involve coordinating with Siemens factories, suppliers and internal teams to ensure equipment and project deliverables are completed safely, on time and to the required quality. The successful candidate will be responsible for: Supporting Project Managers and Senior Project Managers with the end-to-end delivery of data centre projects, including schedule, cost, quality, documentation and stakeholder coordination. Independently managing smaller projects and defined project packages, taking ownership from order handover through engineering, manufacturing, delivery and close-out. Coordinating closely with Siemens factories and external suppliers, including tracking engineering submissions, manufacturing milestones, inspections, testing, documentation and equipment delivery. Monitoring factory and supplier schedules, proactively identifying potential delays or risks and escalating issues to the responsible Project Manager where required. Supporting the delivery of MV/LV power distribution solutions, including switchgear, protection, control and associated electrical equipment. Working closely with engineering, tendering, procurement, logistics, commercial and site teams to ensure project requirements and customer commitments are clearly understood and delivered. Maintaining project trackers, schedules, action registers, risk and opportunity registers, documentation and regular project reporting. Supporting customer and contractor coordination meetings and following through agreed actions to closure. Assisting with commercial project activities including purchase orders, supplier coordination, variation tracking, cost monitoring and project forecasting. Leveraging digital tools, data and automation to improve project visibility, reporting and execution. Championing Siemens’ commitment to safety, quality and compliance, ensuring activities are performed in accordance with Siemens requirements and applicable Australian standards and regulations. The successful applicant will be an organised and proactive project professional looking to take the next step in your career within the data centre and electrical infrastructure sector. Ideally, you will bring 1–2 years of experience in project management, project coordination, project engineering or a similar role within electrical infrastructure, power distribution, construction, manufacturing, data centres or another mission-critical environment. Experience working with MV/LV electrical systems, switchgear, protection and control equipment would be highly regarded, as would experience coordinating overseas factories, suppliers or equipment manufacturing. A tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline is preferred. You will be comfortable coordinating multiple activities and stakeholders, following up actions and maintaining strong attention to schedule, quality and detail. Just as importantly, you will be curious, willing to learn and comfortable taking increasing ownership as your experience develops. You communicate clearly, work collaboratively and are prepared to escalate issues early rather than allowing problems to develop. You enjoy working in a fast-moving project environment and want to build a long-term career in project management. Grow your career with Siemens. This role is intended to be a development pathway within our Data Centre project organisation. You will have the opportunity to learn directly from experienced Project Managers and Senior Project Managers while gaining exposure to major data centre customers, global Siemens factories, suppliers and complex electrical infrastructure projects. As your capability and experience develop, you will progressively take ownership of larger and more complex project packages, creating a pathway toward Project Manager and Senior Project Manager roles in the future. Siemens is committed to ensuring our workplace reflects the communities in which we operate, that everyone has access to the same opportunities and is treated fairly, and that we actively empower every individual voice. We strive to provide a safe working environment for each member of our diverse team and continuously develop our ways of working on this journey. From our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan to our diverse cultural celebrations, LGBTQIA+ education and support and gender equity initiatives, we strive to create an inclusive environment where every individual feels empowered and heard.
