Job Description:
A BMC Engineer designs, develops, and maintains firmware for server management controllers. They enable remote monitoring, diagnostics, and control of hardware systems, ensuring reliability, security, and compliance with industry standards. The role bridges hardware, firmware, and system management software.
Key Responsibilities:
• Firmware Development: Develop and maintain BMC firmware (IPMI, Redfish, PLDM protocols).Implement features for system health monitoring, power management, and remote control.
• Debugging & Validation: Diagnose and resolve firmware issues across pre-silicon and post-silicon phases. Validate BMC functionality with server platforms and OS environments.
• Security & Compliance: Ensure secure boot, firmware update mechanisms, and compliance with industry standards. Implement authentication, encryption, and role-based access control.
• Collaboration: Work with hardware, BIOS, and cloud teams to integrate system management solutions. Support OEM/ODM partners in platform bring-up and deployment.
• System Monitoring: Enable telemetry, logging, and alerting for system health and performance.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
• 3+ years in embedded firmware or server management.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and embedded systems programming.
• Familiarity with ARM/x86 architectures, Linux kernel, device drivers.
• Knowledge of IPMI, Redfish, PLDM, SMBus, I2C, PCIe.
• Debugging tools (JTAG, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers).
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional teamwork.
• Experience with cloud-managed servers, security hardening, and virtualization environments.
