About Fondazione Chips-IT
The Foundation “Italian Center for the Design of Semiconductor Integrated Circuits,” also known as the Chips-IT Foundation, is a nonprofit research and technology organization under the supervision of the Ministries of Industry.
The Foundation is Italy’s first RTO (Research and Technology Organization) vertically focused on semiconductor research and stands as a center of excellence in frontier research on semiconductor design, as well as a pivotal center of the Italian semiconductor ecosystem and expertise.
Missions of the Foundation:

• strengthen the system of professional training in the field of microelectronics
• ensure the establishment of a network of universities, research centers and enterprises that fosters innovation and technology transfer in the field
Role
Fondazione Chips-IT is seeking a Communication & Content Specialist who will act as a strategic and operational reference for communication activities across the organization. In this role, your mission will be to strengthen Fondazione Chips-IT’s positioning and brand through clear, impactful, and coherent communication, both internally and externally, supporting its growth within national and European research ecosystems.
The role will contribute to attracting top-tier talent while designing effective internal communication strategies that foster employee engagement, alignment with corporate values, and a strong sense of belonging.
The position combines strategic communication design with hands-on content production and digital management, in a dynamic environment characterized by multiple projects, stakeholders, and communication flows to be structured and aligned.
This position is based in Pavia, with responsibility for all other Fondazione Chips-IT sites.
Key Responsibilities
Employer Branding & Storytelling
• Contribute to the definition and execution of an Employer Branding strategy to position Fondazione Chips-IT as a leading research organization in the semiconductor landscape, using clear and credible storytelling to attract top-tier talent.
• Act as a key storyteller, translating the organization’s mission, technological milestones, HR initiatives and scientific results into clear, accessible, and engaging narratives for both specialized and non-specialized audiences.
• Support scientific dissemination and outreach activities, contributing to the communication of research outcomes toward institutional, academic, and public audiences.
Internal Communication & Culture
• Contribute to the editorial strategy for internal platforms, creating content that fosters alignment, transparency, and a shared corporate culture across all sites.
• Support internal communication initiatives, including sensitive or organizational updates, ensuring clarity, consistency, and appropriate tone of voice.
• Support crisis communication and change management activities, contributing to messaging and alignment with organizational values.
Project Communication & Digital Content
• Collaborate with Project Managers and cross-functional teams on communication and dissemination activities within national and European projects, ensuring alignment with overall positioning.
• Structure and harmonize communication flows across initiatives, fostering a cross-functional culture of excellence in a dynamic, multi-input environment.
• Manage and enhance the digital ecosystem (websites, CMS such as WordPress), overseeing content publishing and restructuring.
• Produce and edit scientific and non-scientific content, ensuring consistency and high editorial standards across all channels.
• Contribute to leveraging media, institutional, and industry networks while coordinating external agencies to strengthen visibility and support data-driven communication by monitoring effectiveness and engagement.
Required Qualifications and skills
• 6 years of experience in communication, journalism, or related fields, with the ability to bridge the gap between HR, Corporate Communication, and project environments in complex organizations.
• Proven ability to translate complex technical, scientific, or institutional topics into clear and engaging content, with strong editorial skills across formats (digital, web, print).
• Hands-on experience with CMS platforms (e.g. WordPress), website management, and content publishing, combined with proficiency in professional graphic and visual communication tools (e.g. Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Adobe Express, Inkscape, or equivalent software).
• Native-level Italian and full professional proficiency in English (C1), with proven ability to draft, edit, and deliver high-impact speeches, articles, and reports in both languages.
• Relevant network of media, institutional, and industry contacts, combined with the soft skills required to effectively interface with Public Authorities, C-level executives, and international researchers.
• Experience or demonstrated interest in scientific communication and dissemination activities is considered a strong plus.
• Advanced Editorial Strategy & High-Impact Writing: Ability to shape and deliver clear, authoritative communication, including speeches and institutional content for senior stakeholders, ensuring high editorial standards across all outputs.
• Project Communication, Digital Execution & Software Execution: Proven capability to manage communication within complex project environments (national/EU), combined with with strong operational experience in digital platforms, CMS (e.g. WordPress), and professional graphic and content production software (e.g. Illustrator, InDesign, Inkscape, Adobe Express or similar).
• Stakeholder & Network Management: Strong relational skills and an established network to effectively engage with media, institutions, Public Authorities, and senior stakeholders in a research-driven context.
