Senior Staff Engineer Package Technology Development (LF)

Develop and qualify lead frame materials and designs, driving supplier quality, cost optimization and manufacturing excellence. Your role Key responsibilities in your new role • Support R&D project teams in piece-part sourcing and qualification. • Drive Best in Cost Design, technology and material selection, including design for manufacturing, to meet roadmap requirements. • Conduct risk assessments on new lead frame materials, concepts and designs, considering their interaction with package assembly and supplier processes. • Drive cost reduction programs through alternate sourcing, material changes and design changes. • Work with suppliers and designers to resolve technology and quality issues and drive continuous improvement programs. • Define and update lead frame quality requirements in collaboration with lead frame designers and the Supplier Quality Management team. • Conduct supplier audits and evaluations and support the documentation of piece-part specifications and regulatory requirements for qualification. • Conduct engineering change reviews for piece-part and supplier-related changes. • Drive lead frame suppliers to achieve required incoming piece-part quality and delivery targets. • Collaborate with lead frame designers on new lead frame tool-up with suppliers, ensuring on-time delivery and defined quality requirements. Your profile Qualifications and skills to help you succeed • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or another Engineering discipline. • Minimum 5 years of experience in lead frame manufacturing processes, such as metal stamping, metal rolling, copper etching, copper roughening and chemical processes. • Extensive experience in driving and managing suppliers to meet quality and delivery targets. • Strong knowledge of incoming quality control methodology, with a good understanding of lead frame manufacturing processes and their respective defects. • Proficiency in mechanical drawing interpretation, AutoCAD, FMEA, statistical tools, Six Sigma, 8D and 5-Why. • Knowledge of material characterization analysis methods and result interpretation is desirable. • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative and team-oriented mindset. #WeAreIn for driving decarbonization and digitalization.
