**Job Title** Optical Fiber – Technologist **About the Role** Optical Fiber Technologist: Investigate and evaluate optical fiber solutions for photonic packaging. **Responsibilities** **Key responsibilities include** - Technical evaluation and measurements of novel multifiber arrangements. - Fiber design: Simulations of fiber coupling, multimode transmission characteristics and refractive index profile optimization. - Fiber characterization: Measure key parameters including attenuation, bandwidth, dispersion - Cost – Performance optimization. - Hands on preparation of fiber measurements and fiber assemblies - Supplier Interactions: Identify, qualify, and manage key supplier relationships, quality, delivery, and cost performance. - Collaboration: Work with systems engineering and optical packaging. **Qualifications** - 5+ years of proven experience in fiber design and measurements. - Technical Knowledge: Understanding of optical fiber design, passive fiber connectivity, silicon photonics, and manufacturing processes. - Knowledge of fiber materials including fused silica, borosilicate and plastics. - Modeling Software: Experience with optical simulation tools (such as RSoft, COMSOL Multiphysics, Lumerical, MATLAB, or Python-based fiber simulation libraries). - Bachelors degree or higher in relevant technical field - Excellent teamwork and interpersonal/communication skills within the company and with partners, customers, and consultants.
