Head of Public Affairs (Germany & EU)

Your mission Public Affairs Strategy (Germany & EU) • Execute SpiNNcloud’s public affairs strategy across Germany (federal & regional) and EU institutions (Brussels) • Position the company within key policy debates (AI, semiconductors, HPC, digital sovereignty) • Monitor and anticipate regulatory and geopolitical developments at both national and EU levels • Identify and drive opportunities within public frameworks (e.g., German federal programs, EU initiatives)Government & Institutional Relations • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders: • Represent SpiNNcloud in high-level meetings, consultations, and policy forums in Berlin and Brussels • Act as a trusted counterpart to policymakers and institutional partnersEU & German Ecosystem Positioning • Maintain SpiNNcloud’s perspective as a recognized voice in European AI infrastructure and deep tech • Engage with industry alliances, think tanks, and research institutions across Germany and the EU • Drive participation in strategic consortia, IPCEI initiatives, and collaborative programsFunding & Strategic Initiatives • Identify, shape, and support access to public programs(e.g., Horizon Europe, Chips Act, IPCEI, national innovation programs) • Collaborate with internal teams to align corporate strategy with national and international development • Support positioning in large-scale European initiativesStrategic Communication & Thought Leadership • Develop policy narratives around AI, compute infrastructure, and European competitiveness • Contribute to position papers, consultations, and high-level communications • Support CEO and leadership visibility in policy and industry discussions Your profile Experience • 10–15+ years of experience in public affairs, government relations, or policy roles • Strong experience working across Germany and EU institutions (Brussels) • Background in deep tech, AI, semiconductors, or advanced computing environments • Proven track record of working within policy environments and building high-level stakeholder relationships • Experience in a startup or scale-up environmentSkills & Competencies • Deep understanding of German and EU policy-making processes • Strong network in Berlin and/or Brussels • Excellent stakeholder management • Ability to translate complex technical topics into digestible messaging • Strategic thinker with strong execution capabilities Languages • English and German: Mandatory (professional fluency required) • Additional EU languages: Nice to have Mindset • Highly autonomous and ownership-driven • Strategic, yet pragmatic and execution-focused • Comfortable operating across political, technical, and business domains • Strong interest in deep tech and European geopolitical dynamics Internal Collaboration • Work closely with the CEO and leadership team on strategic priorities • Coordinate business development, partnerships, and communications within a public affairs setting • Provide insights on regulatory risks and opportunities Why us?
